It is also curious that they are a fish traditionally used even in places far inland (think of the Piedmont bagna cauda, a traditional Piedmont dish based on anchovies, garlic and olive oil), wholly thanks to the fact that they can be preserved in salt.<\/p>\n

Uses <\/b>
\nThe Calvi Anchovies in Salt 350 g are used in a great variety of preparations, from starters to first and second course dishes.
\nGreat on pizza or on buttered toast, as a refreshing accompaniment to an aperitif. Also recommended as a stuffing in peppers etc, in pasta dishes and as a basis for more sophisticated recipes.
\nBefore use, take the quantity to be used and rinse them carefully under running water to remove the salt crystals. They should then be soaked in tepid milk or water for 10 to 30 minutes until they are pliable and ready for use. Remove the spine if you are not cooking with them.<\/p>\n
